Our 18 Month Old!

Monday, March 5, 2012

Ryan is a walking, talking, ball of fun these days.  He's repeating everything we say and has us laughing constantly.  We have begun the tantrum stage, but they are usually short lived, but wow, can he be dramatic!  He's saying several 2 word sentences such as "All done." and " I run." and still loves blueberries.  He seriously asks for them every. single. night!  Thank goodness for frozen fruit.  He has a mouthful of teeth and chin covered in drool lately, and that hair grows so unbelievably fast.  At his 18 month check up he was the 75% in weight and 90% in height.  He's happy and healthy - what more could we ask for! :)

Dinosaurs say "ROAR"!

He's always fixing something.  That little red hammer really comes in handy.

Natalie came in town to help out while I went to a conference.  Before I left we took advantage of the free babysitter and enjoyed a night out.

Helping Momma pack for her trip.

Reading with Aunt Nat

Ryan loves the vacuum.  He's still a bit skittish around it, but is strangely obsessed with it.

It snowed the other day and I think it was the most snow we'd had all year.  We spent a few minutes playing in the backyard before school.

Reading "Pat the Bunny"... otherwise known as "scratchy face"... its the only page in the book he's interested in.

Yummy breakfast!

Gogo came to visit and we took a fun hike.  Ryan LOVES dirt and sticks!

Helping push his stroller.

Could the Swiffer be any more fun?!  This boy loves to "seep"!

"Cheese!"

Happy 2012!

And finally, here is what Ryan has been up to in the first few weeks of 2012.  He continues to love the park and being outside and is still quite adventurous as you can see from these photos.

"Hi!"

His serious face for getting up those steps.

His first slam dunk! With Daddy's help of course.

Ryan's new little trick...

So proud :)

And back to Explora with his friend Brecken.

Our little engineer.

Lunch with Daddy and a smile and giggle only he can get.

Christmas Part 2

Next up - Taylor Christmas.  The weather really warmed up so we spend a bunch more time outside.  Give Ryan some dirt and stick and he's a very happy camper!

We picked a random day during the visit and called it Christmas.  Unfortunately, this is the only good picture - helping Uncle Nick open a gift.

We attempted a family photo in the front yard one day.

Then we went to the zoo and tried again...

At the aquarium he decided to lay down with the fish.

Later we went to Old Town and ran around the center.

Lots of fun with the Taylor's!  Thank you!

CHRISTMAS

We had a wonderful Christmas and both of our families were able to come visit.  The Latimer's arrived on the 23rd and stayed until the 26th and the Taylor's followed just afterwards.  Lets just say that Ryan did not lack for attention.  He loved it!

I will say that we had so much fun and were super busy that I forgot to pull out my camera many times.  I can't believe we didn't even take a family picture in front of the tree or get any good ones with the grandparents.  Sorry, I guess that happens with a toddler on the move!

We started our Latimer visit out with a trip back to Explora.

All dressed and ready to go to the Christmas Eve service.  Really, this is the best I got?!  Such a ham though!

Christmas morning the three of us got up to see what Santa had brought.  He was still pretty clueless about the whole "Santa" thing, but he could tell you that Santa says "ho, ho, ho" if you asked.
Santa brought him a basketball goal and a riding toy for in the house.

He loved them both and couldn't decide which to play with first or how to play with both at the same time.

Then Pop, GoGo, and Uncle Lindsey joined in on the fun.  We checked out the good stuff in our stockings, had breakfast (Ryan loved coffee cake!), and opened gifts.  I do believe he took a 3 hour nap that day.

The next day we took a fun trip to the aquarium and a quick run through the botanical gardens.

Thanks for a great Christmas Latimer's!
