Ryan's 1st Trip to the Beach

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

We recently returned from Ryan's first trip to the beach.  We joined some of Sarah's family at a great beach house on Tybee Island in Georgia.  The three of us had a fantastic time, but its no stretch to say that Ryan had the most fun.   We couldn't keep him out of the water if we wanted to!

Could he pick a bigger shovel??

That's Ryan's cousin Amelia - just 4 months older - thinking "thanks a lot for stealing my bucket!"  We aren't real good at sharing yet :)

The beach was calm and shallow at low tide so Ryan happily crawled around in the water
 all over the place.

I'm not sure what was so funny, but he was just laughing hysterically!

Surfer dude.

Enjoying his first sucker - a little beach treat.

He loved it, but wanted you to hold it for him.

Playing in the sand with Amelia.

That's another one of Ryan's cousins, Josie,
and Ryan trying to kiss her.

Ryan enjoyed trying to get that heavy rubber mallet (for the umbrellas) to move off the ground.

Since there 14 of us at the beach and we never have that much family in New Mexico at once, we thought we'd have a little pre-birthday for Ryan.  Honestly, he didn't get into the cake like I thought he would - not sure if it was his teeth bothering him or the texture of the icing on his fingers.  We still had a fun time watching him and enjoying the cupcakes.

Hmmm, what am I supposed to with this?

This was serious business - no smiles!

But presents, I mean tissue paper, was another thing.  He loved playing with the paper!

Here's a video of Ryan enjoying the ocean.
